She Came to Tea, a new short play by Rachel Herron, will make its debut as part of the Venus Theater Festival. The play, also directed and starring Rachel, will be performed at the Robert Moss Theater on the 23rd, 25th, and 28th of February.

Rachel will be acting alongside fellow NYU Tisch alum, James Boland. The two have worked together in the Stonestreet Studios Screen Acting program during their senior year at NYU. They are both excited to not just work together again, but to collaborate on many aspects of the show. Although the play was conceived by Herron, many of the physical and musical elements of the play were suggested by Boland.

The play follows a Southern woman's quest for companionship and meaning. After a long night of lust and liquor, this woman awakens to a strange and handicapped man in her bathroom. As she challenges her new, mysterious guest to a series of games and quests, she begins to reexamine the peaks and pitfalls of her life and sexuality.

While studying in the Meisner Studio at the Tisch School of the Arts, Rachel discovered her love for creating and writing. This is her first time participating in a festvial for new work, and she could not be more thrilled. She hopes that the Venus Theater Festival is the first of many to come in her career.

She Came to Tea, runs February 23rd @ 9pm, February 25th @ 9pm, and February 28th @ 4:30 pm at the Robert Moss Theater, located on the 3rd Floor of 440 Lafayette (Between Astor Place and East 4th St.).
