Rubblebucket Releases New EP SAVE CHARLIE

Save Charlie, the new EP from Brooklyn seven-piece Rubblebucket is available today via the independent, tastemaking label Communion Records. The new music has received early critical praise with Paste Magazine streaming the EP in its entirety (http://snd.sc/170HbRr), while Noisey praises the music as "sun-drenched, tropical quirk pop." The new EP follows the group's acclaimed 2011 full length Omega La La and last year's Oversaturated EP. The recording features three new original tracks in addition to the group's reimagining of The Doobie Brothers' "What A Fool Believes" and remixes from Big Black Delta, Chico Mann andFunSecret.

Save Charlie is the result of a year spent writing music while finally having a break from a grueling tour schedule that last the band three full years and is intended to be a preview of what's to come from Rubblebucket on their upcoming full-length, to be released next year. Known for their high energy onstage antics (complete with crowd-surfing horn players, giant robot puppets dancing through the crowd & full audience dance-parties on stage), the band's recent touring has included a stop at PBS's "Live at Infinity Hall," currently airing nationally on PBS. Communion was formed in London in 2006 by musicians Ben Lovett (Mumford & Sons), Kevin Jones (Bear's Den), and producer Ian Grimble (Manic Street Preachers, Travis, Beautiful South). Following the underground success achieved in London, the club night moved first to Brighton and then gradually to 15 cities in the U.K. and U.S. with a further outpost in Melbourne, Australia. And it was from the relationships and experiences forged at those Communion nights, that Communion Records, Communion Presents and, most recently, Communion Publishing were born. Artists to emerge from the Communion fold include Michael Kiwanuka, Daughter, Gotye, and Ben Howard.
