Fool for Love, by renowned playwright Sam Shepard, launches Round House Theatre's 2014/2015 season with an explosive tale of love, hate, and the dying myths of the Old West. Producing Artistic Director Ryan Rilette directs one of the great American plays of the 20th century. Fool for Love runs at Round House Theatre from September 3 thru September 27. Opening night is Monday, September 8, 2014.

In Fool for Love, May's hiding out at a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert when Eddie, her longtime on-again/off-again lover, shows up. Dark secrets are revealed during a night of gripping jealousy, brutal betrayal, and the deepest kind of love. The cast features Katie deBuys (recently seen at Round House in Seminar), Tim Getman (from such RHT productions as The Retreat from Moscow), Thomas Keegan (Ensign Baker in AMC's hit tv series Turn; Round House debut), and Marty Lodge (a veteran of 39 Round House productions, most recently in Seminar).

Calling Fool for Love "Shepard's purest and most beautiful play," The New York Daily News added that "this masterfully constructed work brings searing intensity and rare theatrical excitement to its probing, yet sharply humorous study." The New Yorker praised it "as mysterious and unsettling - now you see it, now you don't - as spare and, incidentally, as funny as anything he has ever done." Fool for Love was hailed by Backstage as "one of the great plays of the late twentieth century" and by Variety as "a powerful addition to Shepard's impressive output."

Tickets go on sale August 11. They range in price from $10 to $45 and may be purchased by calling 240.644.1100, by ordering online at http://www.roundhousetheatre.org, or in person at the box office. Flexible subscription packages of three or more plays are also still available.

Round House Theatre is located at 4545 East-West Highway, one block from Wisconsin Avenue and the Bethesda station on Metro's Red Line.
