Robert Nederlander Jr. & Richard Eisenberg Join Usdan Center's Board of Trustees

Robert Nederlander, Jr., a third generation member of the Nederlander theater dynasty, and Richard Eisenberg, a prominent Long Island attorney and arts philanthropist, have joined the Board of Trustees of Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, the renowned Long Island not-for-profit summer arts day camp. Usdan Center (www.usdan.com), now in its 46th season, has introduced the arts to more than 60,000 children ages 6 to 18, and counts among its alumni Natalie Portman, Jane Monheit, Mariah Carey, Olivia Thirlby, Seth Rudetsky, Jackie Hoffman, Lisa Gay Hamiltonand members of major music and dance ensembles.

The book, published over the past year, has been ranked #1 on Amazon's bestseller lists for both corporate law and nonprofit management lists, 5 Stars by About.com, and was the featured book at the 2012 New York State Bar Association annual conference.

Robert Nederlander, Jr. is the founder and President of Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment, which manages theaters, presents Broadway productions in cities across China and brings Chinese performing arts to Broadway and elsewhere in the United States. Shows brought to China include 42nd Street, Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida and Fame, and Broadway theater credits include the Tony-nominated Soul of Shaolin, brought from China. In 2009 Mr. Nederlander established a strategic partnership with Peking University, including the establishment of a cross-cultural professional program aimed at introducing the business process of the American Musical Theatre Industry to Chinese officials and theatre professionals. Mr. Nederlander is a member of the League of American Theatres and Producers, the Council on Foreign Relations, and is a guest lecturer for Harvard University's China Public Policy Program.

Richard Eisenberg is Counsel to Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C. located in Garden City, Long Island, N.Y., practicing in the Corporate law, Corporate Finance, Real Estate and Litigation and Dispute Resolution practices. Mr. Eisenberg has a broad range of litigation experience in areas including contracts, securities fraud, RICO, anti-trust, land title matters, patent infringement, insurance coverage disputes, construction claims, corporate valuations and criminal matters. A musician, he was a student of the late Joseph R. Sugar, widely acknowledged as the voice of music education in New York State for 50 years. He is also the Executive Secretary for CAMBR Foundation, a key sponsor of activities at Usdan Center.

Usdan Center is open to all young people from age 6 to 18. No audition is needed for most programs - rather, admission is based on an expression of interest in the arts. Each summer, 1,600 students are transported to the Center in air-conditioned buses each day. One-third of Usdan's students attend on scholarship. Although the mission of the Center is for every child to establish a relationship with the arts, the unique stimulation of the Center has caused many to go on to arts careers. Alumni include members of Broadway shows and major music, theater, and dance ensembles such as the Boston Pops and the New York City Ballet. In addition to its regular programs, Usdan offers special opportunities for advanced high school- age performing artists in music and dance.
