Coming up this week, 54 BELOW, the performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond, including award-winning vocalist Eric Michael Gillett, Broadway star Chester Gregory, Grammy Award winner Joni Mitchell, BACKSTAGE, Broadway star T. ERIC Michael GillETT, Feb. 4 at 7PM, Feb. 7 at 9:30PM:
Award-winning vocalist, director and Broadway actor (The Frogs, Sweet Smell of Success, Kiss Me, Kate) Eric Michael Gillett uses the wit and wisdom of Lorenz Hart to remind us all that, though love can be experienced with abandon, to be careless with the heart can also have a price. George Balanchine called Lorenz Hart the "Shelley of America," his lyrics rank with the greatest romantic poetry of all time. Though he, himself, was unlucky in love, his writing casts a spell that will always survive the test of time, inspiring generations of lovers to come to follow their hearts. Chester Gregory, Feb. 4 at 9:30PM:
Broadway knows him from his roles in Sister Act, Dreamgirls, Hairspray, Tarzan, Cry Baby, Shrek the Musical and many others, but this February, get up close and personal with Chester Gregory as he brings The Eve of Jackie to 54 Below. Directed by Ghost's Da'Vine Joy Randolph, The Eve of Jackie explores and celebrates the life of "Mr. Excitement," the late great entertainer Jackie Wilson. With Musical Direction by Rob Lewis, the show is co-written by Crystal Lucas-Perry and Chester himself. Also, look for a special appearance by the phenomenal Lillias White! TALES OF JONI, Feb. 5 at 7:30PM:
54 Below is delighted to tip our hat to the brilliance of eight-time Grammy winner Joni Mitchell. Whether it's "Both Sides Now," "Chelsea Morning," "The Circle Game," "Big Yellow Taxi," or "A Case of You," the work of Mitchell, one of the world's most embraced, lauded, and prolific singer-songwriters, continues to inspire and delight generations of listeners. BACKSTAGE, Feb. 5 at 10:30PM:
Each week, Broadway cast members and audiences alike gather to mix and mingle at 54 Below, Broadway's most intimate haunt, located in the heart of the theatre district. Musical Director Brad Simmons keeps the house jumping from the piano, while host Susie Mosher (the love child of Joanne Worley & Paul Lynde) guides the crowd through an evening of music, mayhem and full throttle belting. Special guests from hit Broadway shows drop in to perform and answer the question on everyone's minds, "what happened in each week to sing everything from Schwartz to Sondheim." You might even get up and sing yourself if you're feeling brave, or brave, or relax with a cocktail and some sliders - the night belongs to you! NPR had this to say "The best thing happening right now might just be the weekly Backstage. If downtown was dull and depressing, it was the elegant nightclubs and working class speakeasies that made uptown gay and delightful. Join Broadway's T. Oliver Reid (Kiss Me, Kate, Follies, Thoroughly Modern Millie, La Cage aux Folles, The Wedding Singer, Mary Poppins, Sister Act... whew!) for an evening of swank and style set to the music of Harold Arlen, Duke Ellington, Andy Razaf, and others. Robert Cuccioli, Feb. 6 at 9:30PM:
This is the Moment for 54 Below, as we welcome one of Broadway's most popular leading men to our stage for one night only. A Standard Love reflects Robert Cuccioli's love of music from ballad to swing through musical standards from the 30′s and 40′s, lending his rich voice to some of the most endearing American standards ever written, including "The Look of Love," "I've Got You Under My Skin," "How Do You Keep the Music Playing," and "Zing! Went the Strings of my Heart." Each song is part of a timeline that, as Robert says, "features an aspect of my own romantic life that resonates in my heart," of loving and losing and loving again. Robert currently appears in the dual role of Dr. Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin in the rock musical Broadway production of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Tovah Feldshuh, Feb. 7 at 7PM, Feb. 8 & 9 at 8:30PM:
Acclaimed actress and entertainer Tovah Feldshuh makes her 54 Below debut! In this zany musical evening, custom fashioned for 54 Below, Ms. Feldshuh revisits the 1970s when she first came to Studio 54 and to Broadway. She also inhabits a gallery of hilarious characters, ages 8 to 80, comic and dramatic-who sing! The songlist includes Broadway classics from Bernstein, Styne, and Gershwin to contemporary artists Dar Williams and Craig Carnelia. For these three special performances, Tovah will be joined by Broadway's Jesse Kissel on piano. For her work on the New York stage, which includes, among many others, Golda's Balcony, Irena's Vow, Yentl, Lend Me a Tenor, and Saravá! (which she will revisit in this show), Tovah is the recipient of four Tony nominations, and has won four Drama Desk, four Outer Critics Circle, the Obie, the Theatre World, and the Lucille Lortel Awards.Cover charge $35-55. $25 food & beverage minimum.

SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED, Feb. 10 at 7PM:
A celebrated New York event since 2010, the Bistro Award-winning series Sondheim Unplugged features some of Broadway and cabaret's most dynamic voices, accompanied by piano only.
