Set in 1860s Paris, the film follows Therese Raquin (Olsen), a young woman trapped in a loveless marriage to her sickly cousin, Camille (Felton), by her domineering aunt, Madame Raquin (Jessica Lange). After Therese meets her husband's alluring friend, Laurent (Isaac), she embarks on an illicit affair that leads to tragic consequences.

The movie is based on Emile Zola's novel Thérèse Raquin. The film is set to screen at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, 9 and 13.
