The hit of last year's Toronto Fringe Festival, THE GIANT'S GARDEN is going to try to take a bite out The Big Apple when it gets its first New York reading as part of The Puzzle: Marble's Festival of New Work on Saturday June 30th. Last summer's Fringe run sold out and was a critics' pick, a patrons' pick and a nominee for the Broadway World Toronto Best Independent Production Award. The reading is part of a festival of new works and will be directed by Tim O'Donnell whose regional credits include a host of family shows for North Shore Music Theatre and the Boston Children's Theatre (The Wedding Singer, Fame). The reading will feature Broadway talents, including Andrea Rivette (Jekyl & Hyde, Miss Saigon) in the role of WINTER and Kristine Reese (Les Mis on Broadway and Broadway tours of Mamma Mia and Wicked) playing the role of SUMMER.

The Giant's Garden is an all ages musical inspired by Oscar Wilde's The Selfish Giant with book by Peter Fenton & Scott White and music and lyrics by Scott White. The show tells the story of a young boy who risks his life to save a magical world slowly being destroyed by selfishness.

The Giant's Garden is one of ten new works that are being presented as part of The Puzzle: Marble's Festival of New Work which is taking place between June 25th and 30th. The festival is produced by Brian Hampton and the Artistic Director of the festival is Marya Spring Cordes. The reading will take place on Saturday June 30th at Bay Hall beside The Marble Church at West 29th Street and 5th Avenue in New York City, and will start at 2 PM. Admission is free of charge with a voluntary donation after the reading. Writers Peter Fenton and Scott White will be in attendance to do a question and answer session with the audience after the reading.
