Riverside Theatre Works presents Freckleface Strawberry The Musical, Feb 28-Mar 8.

Freckleface Strawberry was just like every other girl - except she had bright red hair and something worse...FRECKLES! The musical, performed by adults portraying kids, is based on the beloved children's book by celebrated actress Julianne Moore. With the help of her loveable schoolmates, including an amazingly talented ballerina, a cutie jock, a charming ditz, and a totally kooky teacher, Freckleface learns that everyone is different - and that's what makes everyone special.

Go on a journey of self-discovery with Freckleface and friends as they learn to love the skin they're in.

What makes a community?

Friendship. Laughter. Harmony. Joy. For more than three decades, Riverside Theatre Works has used the performing arts to build a thriving community in Hyde Park and the surrounding area. Our quality, affordable productions draw thousands of people to the neighborhood. Our classes hone the tremendous talent of local youth - while helping develop leadership skills, confidence, and relationships that last a lifetime.
Last year marked another exciting season for RTW, under the leadership of our executive director, Toni Ruscio. We put on ambitious, acclaimed productions of Cabaret and Nuncrackers, and our sellout crowds for Sideways Stories from Wayside School inspired us to add more youth-oriented shows in future seasons. Peter Pan Jr. was a hit during April Vacation Week, and our summer camps put on amazingly polished productions of Once Upon a Mattress and Willy Wonka Jr. We also added talented new teachers and, with help from Mayor Marty Walsh, gave our lobby a beautiful makeover.

Our 2014-2015 season has already begun with a hilarious production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, followed by Divas with a Twist and John O'Neil's heartwarming cabaret Home for the Holidays. Next up is the kid-friendly Freckleface Strawberry The Musical, on stage February 28-March 8. Rehearsal has begun and our students are already buzzing about our spring Vacation Week show, Beauty and the Beast Jr. And we're thrilled to announce our May mainstage show: the Broadway smash Les Miserables. Visit our website, www.rtwboston.org, for tickets and schedules, and to learn about our revamped roster of classes, private lessons, and summer camps, which give children at every level a chance to perform.

We are thriving and growing, but we need your support. Your tax-deductible contribution will help us to expand our classes, upgrade our facility, and broaden our outreach. We want to extend our gratitude for your generous support in the past. With your help, Riverside Theatre Works has been entertaining, educating, and enlightening for over 33 years.

Our community starts with you.
