There two great family friendly events coming up this weekend at The Richmond Symphony: Carnivals and Clowns and Come and Play

Richmond, Virginia Come one, come all! Bring the whole family to the Richmond Symphony's Carnivals and Clowns on Saturday, October 26 at 11a.m to experience Igor Stravinsky's: Petrushka, a classic retelling of the Russian tale of a straw puppet that comes to life! This concert marks the premier of the Union First Market Bank Lollipops series for the 2013-14 symphony season, and is sure to bring smiles to the entire family! Join the acclaimed Richmond Symphony with conductor Erin R. Freeman and guest artist Drew Allison, of Grey Seal Puppets, for a musical experience that's sure to delight those of any age!

Pre-concert festival fun starts at 10am! The kids will love the Instrument Petting Zoo, games,
and other activities presented in partnership with the Children's Museum of Richmond and
WCVE PBS.

Tune your strings and oil your keys! The much- loved community event Come & Play returns to Virginia Commonwealth University's Stuart C. Siegel Center as part of the Richmond Symphony's 2013-2014 concert season!

The Richmond Symphony is inviting musicians of all ages and abilities to grab their instruments and play alongside the Richmond Symphony musicians for the 7th annual Come & Play. The day will be full of excitement, led by Associate Conductor Erin R. Freeman. Parts are available for musicians of all levels and will be tailored to fit the experience level of participants.

There is no cost to attend Come & Play as an audience member!

Don't miss this unique opportunity to play alongside the city's top classical musicians under the baton of Associate Conductor Erin R. Freeman. This event is presented in support of music education in schools through the Symphony@School program. Event proceeds will be used for student instrument purchase and repair.

Founded in 1957, the Richmond Symphony is the largest performing arts organization in Central
