On Wednesday, June 11, Richard Todd Adams will slip behind the mask as the elusive Phantom who lurks beneath the stage of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all its occupants in the U.S. National Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, the international award-winning musical directed by Harold Prince, now at the Community Center Theatre in Sacramento through June 14.

Also featured in the cast are Marni Raab as the young soprano, Christine, Greg Mills as Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny, Kim Stengel as Carlotta Giudicelli, D.C. Anderson as Monsieur André, Bruce Winant as Monsieur Firmin, Nancy Hess as Madame Giry, John Whitney as Ubaldo Piangi and Jessi Ehrlich as Meg. At certain performances, Kelly Jeanne Grant plays the role of Christine.

Richard Todd Adams rejoins the National tour of The Phantom of the Opera as the Phantom having previously played Raoul nearly ten years ago.  On Broadway, he appeared in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Woman in White as Percival Glyde and in the ensemble of Boublil and Schönberg's The Pirate Queen.  He has starred in several off-Broadway productions, including Michael John LaChiusa's Little Fish at Second Stage, David Friedman's Listen to my Heart at Studio 54, and the 2000 revival of Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill.  Regionally, Richard played Javert in Les Misérables, the title role(s) in Jekyll and Hyde, the title role in The Scarlet Pimpernel, Father in Ragtime, Dickinson in 1776 and Ravenal in Showboat.  Also a classical pianist, he toured across the United States and Canada as Ted in the comedy 2 Pianos, 4 Hands.
