Richard Sherman Celebrates 50th Anniversary Of 'It's A Small World' & Kicks Off Global Chorus
Academy Award-winning songwriter Richard Sherman discusses the immeasurable impact of his unforgettable Disneyland theme park composition "It's A Small World" as part of a new global 50th anniversary celebration video featurette series.
"I can't believe that's it been 50 years since my brother, Robert, and I wrote this little song. It meant a lot to me then and it means so much more to me now," Sherman candidly relates before introducing the kick-off of a new global sing-a-long of the iconic Disney classic in the new video clip.
Of note, a new "It's A Small World" charity initiative set to raise funds for UNICEF has now been launched, as well.
The official description of the "It's A Small World" 50th Anniversary Global Chorus is as follows: "To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Disney's "it's a small world", we set out to record people around the world singing "it's a small world" in their own language, adding their own color and cultural flavor to the mix. What surprised us the most was perhaps the fact that no matter where we went or how remote it got, everyone knew the words to the song, proving it really is a small world after all!"
