ASSISTED LOVING: A SPECIAL READING BASED ON THE MEMOIR BY Bob Morris is among the theater events coming up this November and December at 92Y. Featuring Richard Kind, Alex Brightman, Alix Korey and Quinn Mattfield, the reading will be directed by Gordon Greenberg and will be held on Monday, November 7 at 8 pm (free - registration required).

What would you do if your 70-year-old father dragged you into his search for new romance after 40 years of marriage? 92Y presents an exclusive reading of Assisted Loving, the play based on Bob Morris' award-winning memoir, Assisted Loving: True Tales of Double Dating with My Dad. This heartfelt and hilarious true tale of a year of dating dangerously centers on David, a resolute bachelor, who learns more about love than he bargained for - and as his father's wingman and screener - sees some things he'd rather forget.

Assisted Loving was first staged at MCC Theater, Dixon Place and Daryl Roth Theatre's D Lounge as a solo show starring Bob Morris. This new stage version has its world premiere at the Capital Repertory in Albany, NY as part of their Next Act! New Play Summit, now celebrating its 5th anniversary.

Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill, Producing Artistic Director at Capital Repertory Theatre, notes, "It's one of the funniest, warmest plays I have read in a long time. Bob Morris is witty and urbane, and he's not afraid to laugh at himself, which makes his writing even more winning. Our audiences loved the reading in last year's Next Act! New Play Summit. It's a comedy that embraces the idea of new family, and it's a refreshing and important family dynamic to present to the world."

"We're thrilled to continue to support the theater community in New York by presenting this work in process," comments Kent Davidson, 92Y Managing Director, Strategic Marketing and Program Administration. "We also strongly believe in the importance of regional theater, and are happy to be working with Capital Repertory as they develop this new production."

Richard Kind's numerous credits include Broadway productions of The Producers and The Tale of the Allergist's Wife; acclaimed films The Hereafter and A Serious Man; and such TV shows as Spin City and Mad About You.

Alex Brightman currently stars as Dewey in School of Rock on Broadway.

Alix Korey currently stars as Yente in the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof.

Quinn Mattfield currently plays Yepikhodov in The Cherry Orchard on Broadway.

Gordon Greenberg stage credits include co-writing and directing the new Broadway production of Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn, and the recent West End production of Guys and Dolls.

Bob Morris is a frequent New York Times contributor and the author of Assisted Loving, Bobby Wonderful and with actress Diahann Carroll, The Legs are the Last to Go.
