After being diagnosed with an end-of-life disease, Richard D. Rowland kept the news secret from everyone but his immediate family. He now comes forward with his new, two-part book, "Unspoken Messages: Spiritual Lessons I Learned from Horses and Other Earthbound Souls" (published by Balboa Press), describing his life observations and personal journey from a devastating cancer diagnosis.

"One in four people will be diagnosed with cancer and others will face life ending challenges," Rowland explains. "The thing they and their families have in common is they will all look for hope." His hope is that "Unspoken Messages" will bring readers the peace they need in order to find the hope they seek.

In part one of "Unspoken Messages," Rowland shares a collection of personal observations, made of a life spent with animals, that range from deeply spiritual to humorous. His message is that everything happens for a reason. Rowland assures readers, "magic exists, coincidences don't. Hope is always there."

Part two delves into Rowland's cancer diagnosis - doctors offered him no hope, and yet five years later he is still enjoying living and learning that life is all about how it's approached. "Your attitude creates your reality," he writes.

Rowland also offers a unique perspective for goal setting in part two, encouraging readers to have a bucket list they continually add to as they complete each goal. "Never run out of goals or things you want to experience," he urges readers. "Maybe the people with a reason to continue this physical existence will do just that if they have something to live for."
