Rehearsal Round-Up! THE SOUND OF MUSIC Backstage & On Soundstages, Stars Tweet, Etc.
NBC's live TV presentation of Rodgers & Hammerstein's timeless family-friendly musical THE SOUND OF MUSIC is only a few short weeks away and a first look at the crew setting the scene on the soundstages in Bethpage, Long Island prior to rehearsals kicking off there next week with the cast, as well as some other looks behind the scenes are now available.
Executive producer Neil Meron once again took to Twitter earlier today to provide fans with a first look at the action behind the scenes, writing, "Behind behind the scenes
#soundofmusic" while posting two photos of the set - including an appealing photo of very green Viennese foliage.
Meanwhile, leading lady Carrie Underwood displays her convivial rapport with her coterie of Von Trapp child compatriots with a Tweet depicting co-star Sophia Anne Caruso on a break, bundled up in a blanket - but, who's blanket could it be?
Plus, THE SOUND OF MUSIC's golden-throated Mother Abbess, Audra McDonald, has provided some elocution and enunciation lessons to aspiring singing nuns out there byway of a direct translation of one of her famous choruses as it is actually pronounced when sung. McDonald writes of the epic concluding notes of iconic anthem "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", "till you fawnd yaw DRAAAWWWWM!".
Additionally, holy sister Ashley Brown has shared yet another nun-themed update via social media, sharing a photo of the ladies out of their habits, on a bus, writing, "The Nuns on the bus go round and round!!! Headed to set! @NBC get ready for this group! @SoundofMusic".
