For 35 years, Imagination Stage has not only educated thousands of students in theatre arts skills, but has also engaged students in the world of arts education, unleashing their individual creativity. This philosophy extends beyond the classroom, promoting life-long skills necessary in their future, regardless of what that future holds. The Fall 2014 course schedule continues to pursue this mission with classes beginning September 13.

Registration for the Fall semester is available online at www.imaginationstage.org, over the phone at 301-280-1636, by fax at 301-718-8803, or in-person at our Bethesda location, 4908 Auburn Avenue. 10-Week classes and First 6-Week Session begins September 30; Second 6-Week Session begins October 25.

With classes for students 12 months to 18 years old, Imagination Stage endeavors to make a difference in children's lives, no matter the age. Director of Education Joanne Seelig is looking forward to her first fall at IStage! "We aim to cultivate 21st century skills in children that will serve them throughout their lives, while providing them with high-quality performance training from professional teaching artists. By igniting students' imaginations through creative skill-building, our students are prepared for a variety of endeavors as they grow."

The upcoming semester schedule features new and exciting classes to engage students of all ages and levels of expertise. In addition to the continued programming of Saturday Song Circle and Sunday Fun-Day, single-session weekend workshops, Early Childhood classes remain highly popular at Imagination Stage. The youngest students can choose from You & Me: On the Farm (12-36 mo.), as well as Pirates and Mermaids (3-5 yrs.), B'Boyz Hip-Hop: Boys Only (3-5 yrs.), and many more.

Elementary-aged students enjoy newly-themed classes: All That's Dance: Frozen (Gr. K-1), Science Fiction Theatre: Star Wars and Space Creatures (Gr. K-1), Art & Drama: Muppets take Bethesda (Gr. 2-3), and Creative Drama: Harry Potter Tales (Gr. 2-3), which use drama, music, movement, and visual art to foster personal growth, teamwork, and creativity.

This semester only - students in Grades 6-12 are eligible to audition for the IStage Performing Ensemble. Solely comprised of student actors, this ensemble will bring to life everyone's favorite delightfully ghoulish family in The Addams Family. The hilarious musical - on Broadway in 2010 and 2011 - tells the story of Wednesday Addams, princess of darkness, who has fallen in love with a "normal" boy, and her adventures navigating her very eccentric family. Students perform on The Lerner family Theatre stage, the same stage as the professional productions of the 2014-15 Season.

For students interested in a concentrated, advanced training environment culminating in a professionally-produced performance, Imagination Stage is holding auditions for the upcoming freshman conservatory classes in acting, musical theatre, dance, and filmmaking. A complete list of conservatory audition dates may be found here.

For families and students who want to try out sample classes, chat with our teaching artists, and visit the facility, they are invited to do so on September 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Fall In! Sample Class Day! Families can register online for this free Open House event kicking off the Fall Semester at Imagination Stage. Register today: http://bit.ly/1o729Ct.
