This Week's Featured Regional Theater: Stage III Community Theatre in Casper, WY

Stage III's intimate theater-in-the-round stage and the 100 percent volunteer cast and crew can transport audiences to Victorian England, a Manhattan apartment, or a Tennessee courtroom. Wherever the plays take you, you'll meet unforgettable characters and carry home a wealth of memories.

Stage III is a non-profit, all-volunteer community theater that has produced over 100 shows since its start in 1980. In 2001, they moved into our own building, located at 900 North Center near several restaurants. Their season runs from September to June, and features six productions chosen to appeal to a broad spectrum of the community.

All evening performances at 7:30 p.m., matinees at 2:00 p.m.

The 2013 season begins with RABBIT HOLE, by David Lindsay-Abaire. The Corbetts have everything a family could want, until a life-shattering accident threatens to tear them apart. There is a path back from tragedy, if they can only find it. Performances are January 18, 19, 25, 26, 27, 31, and February 1, 2.

Next up is MEDEA, by Euripides. MEDEA is the classic tragedy of love, passion, and revenge. When Medea, the wife of the Argonaut leader Jason, finds he has betrayed her, she sets out to destroy everything he holds dear. Performances are March 8, 9, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23.

I'LL REMEMBER, by Clif McCrady is the spring show. World War II veterans and Holocaust survivors alike came back to the world in silence. Decades later, one young boy seeks to know his grandfather and understand his silence. As their nightly chess games unfold, so does the story that has never been told. Performances are April 26, 27, May 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11.

The final show of the season is EXHIBIT THIS! THE MUSEUM COMEDIES, by Luigi Jannuzzi. It's a series of fast-paced comedic plays and monologues based on 50+ exhibits at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Artists, guards, curators, and the artwork itself, all have a chance to speak. Performances are June 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29.

Everyone at Stage III is a volunteer, from ushers and maintenance crew to directors and officers. They have a use for practically any skill you'd like to share...acting, technical work, construction and maintenance, office work, costumes, make-up, box office, fundraising... you name it.
