Rebecca Luker, Michael Cumpsty & More Set for GTG/Project Shaw's THE DOCTOR'S DILEMMA, 10/19

Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, presents its 107th concert presentation of The Doctor's Dilemma on Monday, October 19 at 7pm, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2895 Broadway at 95th St.).

The Doctor's Dilemma features Michael McCorry Rose (Redpenny), Nora Chester (Emmy), Michael Cumpsty (Sir Colenso Ridgeon), Ames Adamson (Sir Patrick Cullen), Simon Jones (Sir Bloomfield Bonington), Marc Vietor (Cutler Walpole), Tim Jerome (Leo Schutzmacher), Dan Daily (Dr. Blenkensop), Rebecca Luker (Jennifer Dubedat), Christian Campbell (Louis Dubedat), Blair Busbee (Minnie Tinwell), and Chris Ryan (Mr. Danby).

Deadline Theater critic Jeremy Gerard will be the Narrator & The Newspaper Man.

David Staller tell us that, "This particularly provocative comedy takes on the entire medical profession along with the importance of a National Health plan, while examining the value of science versus art--and remains as maddeningly relevant today as it did when it first appeared in 1906."

A question of medical ethics is central to The Doctor's Dilemma: Dr. Colenso Ridgeon (Michael Cumpsty) must choose between saving Louis Dubedat (Christian Campbell)-a talented and charming artist who has borrowed money with no intention of repayment and has deceived his devoted wife Jennifer (Rebecca Luker)-and helping a poverty-stricken doctor who treats indigent patients. The dilemma is further complicated when the doctor realizes he may have fallen in love with Jennifer.

Now celebrating its 10th year, Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw made history in December 2009 as the first company ever to present performances of every one of Shaw's 65 plays (including full-length works, one-acts and sketches).

The season continues Nov. 23 with John Bull's Other Island (Shaw's whimsical 'Irish' play) and Dec. 21 with The Shewing-Up of Blanco Posnet (Shaw's cowboy play about the old American West for Christmas!).

Gingold Theatrical Group's Shaw New York 2016 feature production will be Shaw's Widowers' Houses, a co-production with TACT/The Actors Company Theatre from March 1 - April 2, 2016 at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre, directed by David Staller. Tickets now on sale at Telecharge.
