Rebecca Gayheart will star as Shelby, the bride-to-be, in the upcoming Broadway premiere of Robert Harling's STEEL MAGNOLIAS. Miss Gayheart, who gained national recognition as "the Noxzema Girl," will step onto the stage fresh from her arc on the hit show "Nip/Tuck." Gayheart has many film and television credits including "Jawbreaker," "Shadow Hours," "Dead Like Me," and "Beverly Hills 90210." A BACKSTAGE WEST Garland Award winner for her role as "Sunny" in The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Gayheart will be making her New York stage debut in STEEL MAGNOLIAS.

Rebecca Gayheart joins the previously announced Delta Burke who will play Truvy (the owner of the beauty shop), Christine Ebersole who will play M'Lynn (Shelby's mother) and Lily Rabe who will play Annelle (the young beautician).

Casting for the remaining two funny, strong Southern women who inhabit Truvy's beauty parlor will be announced soon.

Directed by Jason Moore, STEEL MAGNOLIAS begins previews March 15, 2005 and opens April 4, 2005 at the Lyceum Theatre on Broadway.
