From the imagination of Ray Fernandez comes Arcane, a tale of political fantasy that breaks the boundaries between genres to craft a thrilling plot of intrigue, murder and magic. Set in a secret world of the occult that lies within America, this story will take readers on a no holds barred action-packed ride that will culminate in a spectacular display of ruinous powers and sorcerous violence.

The story begins when an agent provocateur uses his incredible powers to slaughter innocent American citizens and intervening law-enforcement officers. The shocking brutality of this event, and its sinister implications, forces the President of the United States to reveal to Congress the existence of the Arcane, a heretofore secret society of magically gifted people who form their own independent state within American territory. At this juncture, representatives of the Arcane government make their presence known and make overtures, offering their services to help prevent further magical violence. This seems to satisfy the politicians, until later that night, the very same agent provocateur from the prior incident attacks the President. The assassination attempt is foiled by Arcane enforcers, who fend off the assailants and take the President to a secret location for his own safety.

This turn of events inevitably leads to tensions between the US government and its Arcane counterpart, though the leaders of both sides struggle to maintain peace and order between their populations. They must contend with a number of extremely dangerous mages, who have formed a faction hell-bent on destabilizing the already precarious situation between America and the Arcane. The assassination attempt on the President of the United States marks the beginning of a string of attacks perpetrated by the rogue faction, and while the enforcers of the Arcane attempt to stop the violence from escalating, the opposition continues its inexorable preparation for conflict. As a war of unfathomable destruction looms, the only hope for saving both America and the Arcane from this dark future lies in the hands of a few brave men who are willing to risk their lives to take down the rogue mages once and for all.

Arcane is a masterful blend of political intrigue, gritty urban fantasy, and ruthless action that will transcend genres to satisfy literary enthusiasts of all persuasions. Fernandez' work is an unrelenting, adrenaline-fueled tour de force of magic and violence that will keep its readers on the edge of their seats.
