Country music legend Randy Travis is coming to The Ridgefield Playhouse tonight, September 7, at 8 p.m. in a concert that is sure to thrill country music fans.

Known by some as a very talented singing cowboy, Randy Travis is the genuine article, an American country music singer and actor. Since 1985, he has charted more than 50 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, and 16 of these were No. 1 hits. His concert set list will undoubtedly include "Before You Kill Us All", an upbeat song that takes a unique look at losing the woman you love, "Three Wooden Crosses" which he performs with passion and heart, his latest single, "Pray for the Fish", a hilarious tune about a man with a few too many sins, and Randy's oldies -- "Too Gone, Too Long", "Just a Matter of Time" and the crowd pleaser "Forever and Ever, Amen".

The Ancient Mariner (451 Main St., Ridgefield) will pour a free glass of wine or draft beer the night of the show when tickets/stubs are presented. This event is part of the Doyle/Coffin Architecture Singer/Songwriter Series.

Considered a pivotal figure in the history of country music, Travis has record sales in excess of 25 million, 22 No. 1 hits, six No. 1 albums, six Grammy awards, six Country Music Association awards, nine Academy of Country Music awards, 10 American Music Awards and seven Dove awards to his credit. To top it all off, Randy Travis has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has appeared in numerous films and television series, including The Rainmaker with Matt Damon, Black Dog with Patrick Swayze and Touched by an Angel.

In concert, Randy Travis shares funny stories, and the audience hangs on his every word. According to a recent concertgoer, seeing Randy Travis in concert is "Truly a great night and a great performance."
