Rachel Stern Takes Over as Liz in High Fidelity

Rachel Stern has taken over in the role of Liz in the Broadway-bound musical High Fidelity, which is currently playing an out-of-town tryout at Boston's Colonial Theatre.

Stern assumed the part of the tart-tongued Liz (played by Joan Cusack in the film version of High Fidelity) soon after the musical opened in Boston on October 5th; she replaced Katy Mixon.  High Fidelity began previews at the Colonial on September 26th.  It will begin previews at Broadway's Imperial Theatre on November 20th and open on December 7th.

High Fidelity also stars />Will Chase (Lennon, Rent and Aida) as Rob and />Jenn Colella (Urban Cowboy) as Laura, as well as />Christian Anderson (Dick), Jay Klaitz (Barry), />Jeb Brown (Ian), />Emily Swallow (Marie/Charlie), />Jon Patrick Walker (Johnny the Drunk), />Kirsten Wyatt (Anna/Alison), ensemble members />Justin Brill, />Andrew C. Call, />Matt Caplan and />Anne Warren, and swings />Paul Castree, George Merrick, Tom Plotkin, />Rachel Stern and />J.B. Wing.

Stern, who graduated from NYU, was previously a High Fidelity ensemble member.  She previously appeared as a swing in Tarzan, and has appeared regionally in such shows as Hair at Theatre Under the Stars.

High Fidelity is choreographed by />Christopher Gattelli (/>Altar Boyz, />Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me), with set design by Anna Louizos (Avenue Q), costume design by Theresa Squire (The Lieutenant of Inishmore), lighting design by Tony-winner Ken Billington (Chicago) and sound design by Acme Sound Partners (Avenue Q).
