Joe's Pub presents ROW in Concert, A New Musical by Dawn Landes & Daniel Goldstein June 21 & 22.

"I am so excited about our latest commission by the amazing team of Dawn Landes and Daniel Goldstein. Row, a musical about a woman's solo journey across the Atlantic, has been brought into vivid focus through beautiful music and storytelling. Dawn is a singular voice in music whose songwriting has been a perfect fit for playwright/director Daniel Goldstein and together they have adapted this true story into a tale of bravery and vulnerability. This commission is part of our New York Voices program which brings new stories and voices into the world of theater and I hope that you will support these artists on this journey."
-SHANTA THAKE, Director of Joe's Pub

In June, 1998, Tori Murden left her job as a project manager in Louisville, Kentucky, and embarked on what no woman had ever done: row across the Atlantic. She set out with her homemade vessel, The American Pearl, a small boat that had no motor or sail. To track her journey, she made videos along the way, even when she lost all radio connection with the outside world. She covered over 1,000 miles and rowed over 200,000 strokes. But she unknowingly rowed into the heart of Hurricane Danielle.

ROW is a musical with music and lyrics by Dawn Landes and book by Daniel Goldstein, adapted from Tori's memoir, A Pearl in the Storm. Telling parallel stories of Tori's journey across the ocean and through her life, ROW tells a heartbreaking and ultimately uplifting story of finding your heart in the middle of the ocean. ROW merges Dawn's folk/country tunes with Tori's unique words into a distinct and new voice in Musical Theater.

Featuring: Xanthe Elbrick as Tori, Lauren Balthrop as Young Tori, and Stephen Bogardus as Mac. Additional cast includes Maria-Christina Oliveras, Nicole Lewis, Dave Quay, Austin Durant and Emily Young.
