Producers of the five-time Tony Award-nominated ROCK OF AGES just announced that the smash hit Broadway musical has been handpicked by the National Football League (NFL) help celebrate Super Bowl XLVIII in high-octane, rocker fashion, with performances on the Roman Numerals Stage of "Super Bowl Boulevard - Engineered by GMC" at 41st Street & Broadway on Thursday, January 30, and - during the final hours before kickoff - at the official NFL Tailgate Party at the Grandstand at Meadowlands Racetrack and Game Day Fan Plaza outside of MetLife Stadium on Super Bowl Sunday, February 2.

In celebration, ROCK OF AGES launches an online video contest, inviting its fans to join them in going "wild, wild, wild" for the Super Bowl! Fans can submit 15-30 second videos of themselves rockin' out to their favorite part of Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead Or Alive" or Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again", either as a YouTube link at http://bit.ly/RockTimesSquare, or through Instagram using the hashtag #RockTimesSquare. Submissions will be accepted through January 20, at which time a panel of rockers will choose the top five entries, which will be posted for open voting. The winner will be a part of 'Broadway's Best Party' on Thursday, January 30, joining the cast on the Super Bowl Boulevard stage, to perform "Don't Stop Believin" right in the heart of Times Square.

New York City and the state of New Jersey will host a week of activities leading up to Super Bowl XLVIII - the first to be hosted in an open-air venue in a cold-weather city - which will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on February 2, 2014. Among the announced plans is the creation of a "Super Bowl Boulevard," which will serve as the epicenter of NYC's Super Bowl events during the week-long celebration leading up to the game. Working in conjunction with the City of New York, the NFL will transform a portion of Broadway into the sports and entertainment hub of Super Bowl week. It will begin on 44th Street, in the middle of Times Square, and stretch down Broadway to 34th Street from Wednesday, January 29 to Saturday, February 1, 2014. "Super Bowl Boulevard" will welcome fans from around the world, to experience for free a football festival never seen before in New York City; organizers expect more than a million people to visit the boulevard, which will feature fan favorite NFL Experience events including interactive activities that allow fans to throw a touchdown, catch a pass, or kick a field goal; a 60-foot high and 180-foot long toboggan run; an outdoor autograph and concert stage; the Vince Lombardi Trophy display; giant versions of the Super Bowl roman numerals; and broadcast sets for all of the major television networks. The Rock of Ages cast will perform on the Boulevard's Roman Numerals Stage, located at West 41st Street & Broadway, on Thursday, January 30.
