Princeton Symphony Presents FOLLOWING THE NINTH, 3/15

On Wednesday, March 15 at 7 pm, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) Soundtracks Series presents a screening of the documentary Following the Ninth: In the Footsteps of Beethoven's Final Symphony. The film takes viewers on a journey to performances of Beethoven's Ninth heard around the world, revealing the work's powerful force as a unifying anthem of hope and freedom.

Directed and produced by Kerry Candaele, the film was released in 2013, and has been shown in over 250 cities in the United States and around the world. It's been hailed as "a majestic documentary, as transformative as it sets out to be" by the Village Voice and earned several international film awards.

Presented in partnership with the Princeton Public Library, the screening of Following the Ninth comes in advance of the PSO's March concert, Restless Romantics, featuring violinist Philippe Graffin accompanied by the PSO, conducted by Christopher Lyndon-Gee.

Admission is free and open to the public; the film will be shown in the Princeton Public Library's Community Room. Complimentary popcorn and beverages available for a complete movie-going experience!

ABOUT THE PRINCETON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) is a cultural centerpiece of the Princeton community and one of New Jersey's finest music organizations, a position established through performances of beloved masterworks, innovative music by living composers, and an extensive network of educational programs offered to area students free of charge. Led by Music Director Rossen Milanov, the PSO presents orchestral, pops, and chamber music programs of the highest artistic quality, supported by lectures and related events that supplement the concert experience.
