Point Park's REP Professional Theatre to Stage I'M GONNA PRAY FOR YOU SO HARD

The REP Professional Theatre Company presents the Pittsburgh Premiere of Halley Feiffer's I'm Gonna Pray For You So Hard, the navigation of the complicated divide of father-daughter relationships, as each struggles in one way or another, to make the other proud.

Directed by Robert Turano, I'm Gonna Pray For You So Hard runs September 30 - October 16, 2016 in the Studio Theatre at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, 222 Craft Ave.

Performances will be at 8 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Ella is a competitive, young actress who seeks to impress her once-famous playwright father, David. In a night of drugs and booze, the two argue whether or not to read her stage debut reviews in an evening that will unravel the truth. This show examines the complicated ups and downs of their relationship and is a fresh take on family dynamics.

"Halley's writing is a brilliant and brutally honest exploration of the relationship between a father and daughter," said Turano, "I haven't been this excited about the language of a new play since I read and then produced David Mamet's American Buffalo here [in Pittsburgh] many years ago."

Featuring scenic design by Stephanie Mayer-Staley, costume design by Joan Markert, light design by Dan Kendgia, and sound design by StEve Shapiro.

Following the Thursday, October 13 performance, there will be a Talk Back with the cast to answer questions and dig deeper into the themes and topics of the show with audiences.

Robert Turano played Louis in the Tony Award winning Broadway revival of A View From The Bridge with Scarlett Johansson and Liev Schreiber. TV credits include recurring roles on Law & Order, Rescue Me, and The Guiding Light as well as guest starring roles on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Mysteries Of Laura, Blue Bloods, Elementary, Person Of Interest, Law & Order SVU, Unforgettable, and more. Recent film credits include the award winning film, Theresa Is A Mother as well as The Drop with James Gandolfini and Tom Hardy. Other starring film roles include FederAl Hill, Outside Providence, Brooklyn Rules, The Tavern, and One Way Out. He was the artistic director of the Fine Line Theatre Company which produced many plays over five years in the early 80's on the corner of Fifth and Craft in Oakland where Carlow University now stands. He directed and introduced David Mamet's American Buffalo to Pittsburgh as well as The Water Engine, Sly Fox, Hold Me, Modigliani, Play By Play, True West, Cops, Justice, Bullshot Crummond, Spratt, Lone Star, PVT.
