Pill & Falco Team up for WIDE NIGHT Off-Broadway

Variety reports today that THE MIRACLE WORKER star Alison Pill will Join stage and screen vet Edie Falco on stage off-Broadway in the Naked Angels' production of THIS WIDE NIGHT, by Chloe Moss. The production will feature direction by Anne Kauffman (Stunning, The Thugs) and is set to open sometime this spring at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Theatre Row. The production will begin previews on May 8 and open May 16.  The Naked Angels Theatre Company is currently represented on Broadway with NEXT FALL, co-produced by Elton John and David Furnish.

THE WIDE NIGHT centers on a female ex-con (played by Pill) who gets a surprise visit from her former cellmate (played by Falco). This will be the show's second major production.  It is the recipient of the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for a female-written play, and was produced in 2008 by the London Production Company Clean Break, which works with women who have had dealings with the criminal justice system.

Alison Pill completed her run as Annie Sullivan in the short-lived 50th anniversary production of THE MIRACLE WORKER on Broadway on April 4, 2010. Prior to that, she starred on Broadway in Mauritius and in the Off-Broadway hits reasons to be pretty and Blackbird, for which she received Lucille Lortel, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League nominations. She was nominated for a Tony Award for her Broadway debut in The Lieutenant of Inishmore and for a Lucille Lortel Award for On the Mountain. She won a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble in the U.S. premiere of The Distance from Here and starred in an Off-Broadway run of None of the Above. Film work includes Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Milk, Dan in Real Life, Dear Wendy, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Pieces of April. Television includes "In Treatment" (HBO), "The Book of Daniel" (NBC), "Life With Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows," and the upcoming miniseries "The Pillars of the Earth."

Edie Falco, perhaps best known for her work on HBO's The Sopranos, currently headlines her own television drama, Nurse Jackie, now in its second season. She has additionally starred on television in OZ.  On Broadway, Falco has appeared in 'Night, Mother" in 2004 and Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de Lune in 2002.
