Photo Preview: TRP Presents INDIAN BLOOD
Theatre in the Round Players (TRP) presents the area premiere of "Indian Blood" by A. R. Gurney in weekend performances November 20 through December 13.
Young Eddie -- growing up in a genteel home in Buffalo, New York in the 1940's -- is suspended from school for drawing a dirty picture. This will not go well with his family, especially just before Christmas. And it doesn't help when he pleads his case using a distant Indian ancestor. Narrated by Eddie and seen through the filter of his irreverent eyes, the prodcution retains many aspects of the original staging, including a spare set concept reminiscent of Our Town. A witty, warm comedy by the author of The Dining Room, Sylvia and Love Letters. ...a sweet and civilized memoir of a sixteen-year-old boy rebelling against the stuffy values of his upper-middle-class family... Lynn Musgrave directs a cast of eight featuring Ben Stasny as Eddie. Sets are designed by Chad van Kekerix, costumes by Dwight Larsen, and lighting by Andy Kedl.
A discussion with director Musgrave and members of the company will follow the matinee performance on Sunday, December 6th.
