Vanessa Williams sat in with Darius de Haas during his Birdland concert on Monday night, duetting on Stevie Wonder's "Send One Your Love" and the great Billy Preston/Syreeta tune, "With You I'm Born Again." The cheering throng included jazz great Andy Bey, Leslie Uggams and The Color Purple's Felicia Fields.

De Haas and Williams--who has since been seen in Into the Woods and in Encores!' St. Louis Woman--made their Broadway debuts in Kiss of the Spider Woman. Uggams received a Tony Award for her performance in Hallelujah, Baby! and was also nominated for her turn in King Hedley II; On Golden Pond, Anything Goes and Her First Roman are among other credits.

At the concert, de Haas performed a combination of material from his acclaimed Stevie Wonder and Billy Strayhorn-themed Lincoln Center concerts, along with a few new originals.
The actor has been seen on Broadway in Rent, Carousel, Marie Christine, Kiss of the Spider Woman and The Gershwin's Fascinating Rhythm. He won the Obie Award for his performance in The Running Man, and has been a soloist in concerts at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, London's Royal Festival Hall and LA's Disney Concert Hall. Most recently, Darius has been traveling as special guest of Vanessa Williams in her national concert tour.
