The Stella Adler Studio of Acting was incredibly sad to hear of the passing of its friend James Gandolfini. One of Gandolfini's last public appearances was on June 10 when he came to the Stella by Starlight Gala that benefits the programs for the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.

James was there to celebrate the career of his close friend and our honoree, Elaine Stritch. Other honorees that evening included Stephen Sondheim, George Takei and Charles S. Cohen.
