Photo Flash: Sneak Peek at PS/MS 89's Spring Arts Festival at The Williamsbridge School in The Bronx
Public School/ Middle School (P.S./M.S.) 89 in the Northeast section of the Bronx will celebrate the arts in a big way during an evening of theater, music, dance and visual art today, June 6, 2014 at the school located at 980 Mace Avenue (between Williamsbridge Road and Colden Avenue) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The evening's program will feature a gallery presentation of students' fine art and graphic design work, performances from talented vocalists as well as dramatic presentations, including an excerpt from "High School Musical". Joining the school for the festivities will be New York State Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj, a supporter of the arts in schools.

P.S./M.S. 89 art teacher Will Goertzel says, "I have been so impressed with the art produced by our students. I think some them have surprised themselves with what they have accomplished. I look forward to having my students share their accomplishments with their families and the community."
Serving the community for over 95 years, P.S. /M.S. 89 provides a first class educational experience for over 1400 students in grades Pre-K - 8. Students in grades 6-8 are accepted into one of two academies, STEM or Arts and Humanities. While the school offers students instruction in visual arts, graphic arts and drama, partnerships with Lincoln Center (Jazz for Young People) and The Jazz Foundation of America affords students an opportunity to make connections between subject classes and music across all grades.
