Resonance Ensemble presents the world-premiere of Larry Loebell's contemporary romantic fantasy La Tempestad in repertory with the play that inspired it, Shakespeare's The Tempest, adapted and directed by Victor Maog. Previews of La Tempestad began on October 9th, with the official press opening of set for October 13th. The show plays the Ohio Theatre (66 Wooster Street) through October 30th.

La Tempestad "sets Prospero on the tropical island of Vieques, Puerto Rico in self-imposed exile where he practices the antiquarian arts. After a stormy crossing, three couples - including Prospero's daughter Miranda and her fiancé Ferdinand - are swept up in the island's history of passion, politics and magic. As U.S. military pilots practice for the invasion of Iraq in the unpredictable skies overhead, each couple ponders the prospects of marriage and tests the limits of their love," according to pree notes.

La Tempestad and The Tempest run in repertory: Sundays & Mondays at 7pm, Wednesdays - Saturdays at 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2pm. Tickets are $15 and can be reserved by calling Theatermania at 212-352-3101 or online at www.theatremania.com.
