A. Tappan Wilder, nephew of famed playwright Thornton Wilder and literary executor, Obie award-winner David Cromer and cast members of the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production of’ Thornton Wilder’s Our Town will appear at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Center (1972 Broadway) on Friday afternoon, April 17th at 4:00 p.m. in celebration of the playwright’s 112th birthday.  Messrs. Wilder, Cromer and cast members will read selected letters written by Wilder and scenes from Our Town followed by a “Q&A” and book signing. 

David Cromer’s critically acclaimed staging of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, now on stage at The Barrow Street Theater (27 Barrow Street), began performances February 17th and opened to rave reviews on February 26th at the downtown venue whose space has been completely redesigned for this production.  

The cast features (in alphabetical order) Jeremy Beiler as Sam Craig, Rob Beitzel as Howie Newsome,  Kati Brazda as Mrs. Webb, George Demas as Constable Warren, Donna Jay Fulks as Mrs. Soames, Jennifer Grace as Emily, Wilbur Edwin Henry as Professor Willard, Adam Hinkle as Joe Crowell, Ronete Levenson as Rebecca Gibbs, James McMenamin as George, Ken Marks as Editor Webb, Jonathan Mastro as Simon Stimson, Seamus Mulcahy as Wally Webb, Lori Myers as Mrs. Gibbs, Jay Russell  as Joe Stoddard, Jeff Still as Doc Gibbs, Jason Yachanin as Si Crowell, and David Cromer as the Stage Manager.

Cromer, who directed last season’s hit musical, Adding Machine, and who next season will make his Broadway directing debut with Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound, and performs the central role of ‘Stage Manager’ in this staging of Wilder’s timeless play.

Our Town is produced by Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian, Tom Wirtshafter, Ted Snowdon, Eagle Productions, LLC, Dena Hammerstein/Pam Pariseau, and The Weinstein Company.

The performance schedule for Our Town is as follows: Tuesday – Friday at 7:30 p.m.,  Saturday at 2:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2:30 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are priced at $69 & $40, and available through smarttix (212) 868.4444, www.smarttix.com, or at the Barrow Street Theatre box office (open at 1 p.m. daily).
