The Irish Repertory Theatre and its guests, including Marian Seldes and Frances Sternhagen, celebrated last Thursday's Off-Broadway opening of Conal Creedon's AFTER LUKE and WHEN I WAS GOD -- two short plays, set in present-day Ireland, about the powerful bond between fathers and their sons -- at The Irish Repertory (132 West 22nd Street) in Manhattan.

Directed by Tim Ruddy, AFTER LUKE and WHEN I WAS GOD co-stars Gary Gregg, Colin Lane and Michael Mellamphy.

AFTER LUKE is set in the heyday of Ireland's recent boom, and explores the greed-driven frenzy of the property market when one son returns from abroad and manipulates the sale of the homestead. WHEN I WAS GOD is a searing drama of a father's heartbreaking expectations for his son in sports. We witness through the eyes of a ten year old the longings of a fanatical dad.

Conal Creedon's AFTER LUKE & WHEN I WAS GOD runs through September 20 at the Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street): Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8pm; Matinees are Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 3pm. For information and reservations, visit www.irishrep.org or call 212-727-2737.
