Photo Flash: In Rehearsal with Ducdame Ensemble's FUENTE OVEJUNA

Rehearsals have commenced for Ducdame Ensemble's production of the Lope de Vega classic, FUENTE OVEJUNA. Produced in association with Breukelen Stage & Film, FUENTE OVEJUNA will be presented as part of the New York International Fringe Festival later this month. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast in rehearsal below!

Directed and adapted by William Oldroyd, FUENTE OVEJUNA tells the story of the oppression, rebellion, love and sacrifice required to spark the revolution of 15th Century Spain's 99%.

The production is lead by Sam Gilroy (Showtime's Billions) as Commander Gomez de Guzman. Samantha Blinn, Brittany Chandler, Jack Collard, Ian Harkins, Cori Hundt, Alexander Kirby, Jane May, Brandon Petty, Kelly Strandemo and Will Wilder round out the cast. Ariana Karp is the assistant director.

William Oldroyd's previous directing credits include MACBETH (Union Theatre, London), GHOSTS (Young Vic Theatre, London) and WAITING FOR GODOT (BEME Theatre, Munich). Oldroyd won the Sundance London Short Film Competition with his film, 'BEST,' which subsequently made its US premiere at the Sundance Festival in Park City. Currently, he is part of an iFeatures initiative to develop his first feature film, LADY MACBETH. FUENTE OVEJUNA marks his FringeNYC debut.

Ducdame Ensemble gives this adaptation of FUENTE OVEJUNA its USA premiere. FUENTE OVEJUNA will play the Theater at the 14th Street Y on Saturday August 15th at 7:30pm, Sunday August 16th at 9:30pm, Saturday August 22nd at 8pm, Sunday August 23rd at 3:15pm and Wednesday August 26th at 4:30pm.
