Photo Flash: Children's Theatre Co Presents Mr. McGee & According to Coyote

What happens when a wayward duckling doesn't listen to his mother? Australia's celebrated Patch Theatre comes to Children's Theatre Company to present the answer in "Mr. McGee & the Biting Flee." Meet and dine with little Mary Elizabeth and the monster who lives in her house in this delightful collection of stories, told in gorgeous, witty ways. "Mr. McGee & the Biting Flee" is appropriate for children ages 4 and older, so bring your whole family and enjoy a day of wonder at The Children's Theatre Company.

"Mr. McGee & the Biting Flea" is one of more than 30 books written by Pamela Allen, a New Zealand author whose works are recognized throughout the world. A two-time winner of the Australia's CBC Picture Book of the Year, Allen also wrote "Is your Grandma a Goanna?", "I Wish I had a Pirate Suit" and "Shhhh! Little Mouse."

In its 37-year history, Patch Theatre Company has produced 100 new works and performed to 1.4 million children and their families nationally and internationally. In recent years, Patch has developed and refined a repertoire of seven acclaimed productions, each featuring the company's trademark elegance, simplicity and theatrical invention. This stylish collection of engaging theatre makes its way to Minneapolis and will be performed at the Tony Award-winning Children's Theatre Company, through February 21.

Part superhero, part comic, Coyote - a legendary trickster from Native American lore - gives great gifts to the human race but along the way encounters misadventures and sticky situations he must use his wiles to maneuver away from. Watch as he brings fire, stars and other natural phenomenon to our world, in this amazing and hilarious feat of storytelling. Written by the late actor, playwright and Honolulu Theatre for Youth artistic director John Kauffman, and originally commissioned by The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, According to Coyote is best suited for children 7 years and older. Sheila Daniels, associate director of Seattle's Intiman Theatre directs this amusing, yet thought-provoking production. Twin Cities actor George Keller stars as Coyote.
