Photo Flash: Broadway Star Lauren Elder Celebrates Debut Album Release at The Slipper Room

Broadway star, Lauren Elder (SIDE SHOW, HAIR) released her debut album of original music on Wednesday, January 25th and celebrated with a concert to a packed house at The Slipper Room in NYC.

Elder was joined onstage by Haven Burton (KINKY BOOTS, SHREK, LEGALLY BLONDE, RENT), Maya Sharpe (HAIR), Allison Guinn (ON THE TOWN, HAIR), composer/writer Bobby Cronin, Dan Crowley, Eli Zoller, Carl Limbacher, and Max Maples.

After an overwhelmingly successful crowdfunding campaign on RocketHub, Lauren assembled a group of incredible musicians and performers to record her first album of original music. Sweet love songs, heart breaking melodies, and world class whistling make this album a fun, unique musical journey. The album is now available on iTunes and at laureneldermusic.com

Lauren Elder is an actress, singer-songwriter and whistler living in New York City. She has been seen in the Broadway and West End revivals of Hair, and the Broadway revival of Side Show, and on TV in Boardwalk Empire (HBO), Louie (FX), and Law & Order (NBC). She is regularly seen performing in NYC at 54 Below, Joe's Pub, Birdland, and other local venues. Lauren also writes original music blending the sweet sounds of the ukulele with influences of folk, jazz and pop to create her unique, whimsical sound.
