Primary Stages hosted its 2016 Gala celebrating the Horton Foote Centennial last night, October 17, 2016 at 6:30 pm at 583 Park Avenue. The even twas chaired by CharLes Davis, HAllie Foote, David Richenthal and Michael Wilson, and featured performances and tributes by Elizabeth Ashley, Betty Buckley, Harriet Harris, Jayne Houdyshell, Estelle Parsons and Molly Ringwald. Honorary co-chairs for the event include Matthew Broderick, Robert and Luciana Duvall, James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson. Scroll down for photos from the festivities!

Over the history of the organization, Primary Stages has collaborated often with Horton Foote, welcoming New York audiences to visit Foote's small town Texas families. From the New York premiere of The Day Emily Married to the Tony Award nominated transfer of Dividing the Estate, Primary Stages has served as a creative home for the playwright and his family, also producing the plays of Daisy Foote and featuring performances from his daughter HAllie Footeand his son-in-law Devon Abner. In celebration of the Centennial, Primary Stages will be revisiting Horton Foote's The Roads to Home, directed by Foote's longtime director, Michael Wilson and featuring performances from actors who have previously worked with Foote.

Primary Stages will open their 2016/17 season with a new production of Horton Foote's THE ROADS TO HOME, directed by Michael Wilson (The Trip to Bountiful). Previews begin on September 14, with opening night set for October 5 at The Cherry Lane Theatre.
