Photo Flash: Backstage With Delta Burke

On Saturday night July 9th, 11 people from Collins, Mississippi were in the audience to see Steel Magnolias. Among them was Delta Burke's husband's (Gerald McRaney) Aunt Ruth. Gerald and Delta visit Collins often and even have their own furniture store there, called Gerald and Delta's Imports "The Best Little Warehouse in Mississippi." After the performance, Aunt Ruth and her friends presented Delta with a cooler of Ruth's famous Chicken Spaghetti.

STEEL MAGNOLIAS will play its final performance at the Lyceum Theatre on Broadway on Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 3pm. As of that performance, the show will have played 23 previews and 136 regular performances.

A touring production of STEEL MAGNOLIAS will launch in the 2007-2008 season.

STEEL MAGNOLIAS stars Delta Burke as Truvy, Christine Ebersole as M'Lynn, Rebecca Gayheart as Shelby, Marsha Mason as Ouiser, Lily Rabe as Annelle and Frances Sternhagen as Clairee. Written by Robert Harling and directed by Jason Moore, STEEL MAGNOLIAS is currently playing at the Lyceum Theatre, (149 West 45th Street, east of Broadway). Previews began March 15 and the official opening date was April 4, 2005.
