Annette Bening addressed the Los Angeles cast of The Book of Mormon prior to their benefit performance for The Actors Fund on Wednesday, October 13th, saying “I am honored to be here with you, to thank you for donating your time and talent, and being part of this great 'Actors Fund' tradition of special performances. So many of our friends and colleagues have been and are being helped by The Actors Fund with rent, medical bills or food when out of work or sick, or special care in their senior years, The Fund is there for them and all of us.”

The added matinee performance raised more than $200,000 for The Actors Fund in both tickets sales and private donations from patrons. Among those on hand to support both the show and The Fund were Patricia Morison, Anne Jeffreys, Joanne Worley, John Bowab, Martin Wiviott, David Michaels, Jim J. Bullock, Jason Grae, B. Harlan Boll and Annette Bening.
The shows stars Gavin Creel (Elder Price) and Jared Gertner (Elder Cunningham) joined the cast on stage after the performance to thank the audience for their support of The Actors Fund and shared anecdotes of friends and colleagues who have directly benefitted from programs offered by The Actors Fund. They expressed how proud they were to be part of a tradition of helping those within the entertainment industry, both in the public eye and behind the scenes, for 130 years.
