The 2nd Annual Bob Stewart Tuba Competition will be a featured part of the 38th Annual 52nd Street Duke Ellington Jazz Festival on Saturday, October 26, 12 - 5 PM. The Tuba Competition will feature competitive performances by four major jazz bands featuring the Tuba as the primary instrument -- Joe Daley's Ebony Brass Quintet, Ben Stapp and the Zozimos, the Velvet Brown Trio and David Grego and Tubaczar. Legendary Tuba payer Bob Stewart will emcee the competition which will be held from 2 to 4 PM on the Performance Stage at the southeast corner of 52nd Street and Avenue of the Americas.

From 12 noon to 2 PM, the Duke Ellington Center for the Arts founder and president Mercedes Ellington will present a musical performance by Ellington Center all-stars, including vocalists, ballroom and tap dancers, and Latin Jazz Percussionist Bobby Sanabria and his Band.

From 4 to 5 PM, there will be a performance by Bob Stewart's First Line Band featuring guest performers, trombonist Ray Anderson and Latin Jazz percussionist Bobby Sanabria.
