Photo EXCLUSIVE: BUSTED! BONNIE & CLYDE Stars Confess Their Guilty Pleasures - The Melissa Van Der Shyff Edition

Though innocent of the crimes committed by their onstage counterparts, the stars of the new shoot-'em-up Broadway musical, BONNIE AND CLYDE, which opened at the Schoenfeld Theatre on December 1, 2011, are no guiltless parties. For BroadwayWorld's newest photo feature, BUSTED!, we tracked down the stars and got them to confess their biggest guilty pleasure. In this third column, The Blanche Barrow Edition, we reveal Melissa van der Schyff's lazy habit: napping!

Check back tomorrow for the Sheriff Schmid/Joe Hart Edition!

Blanche Barrow is Buck’s bible-thumping, small-town-thinking, worrywart wife. Never one to stray too far from home or the Lord, Blanche’s overt disapproval for her family’s criminal antics puts a strain on her marriage. She is complacent with the (unfortunate) cards she’s been dealt, finding comfort in her work as a hairdresser. Will she be left in the grit of the Dust Bowl or join the Barrow Gang for good?

Melissa van der Schyff returns to after appearing on Broadway after making her debut in the Deaf West/Roundabout revival of Big River in 2003, for which she and her cast mates received the 2004 "Tony Honor for Excellence in Theatre." Melissa originated the role of Blanche in Bonnie & Clyde at La Jolla Playhouse (2009 San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Featured Actress) and the Asolo Repertory. Other Regional includes Catherine in Pippin (Deaf West & Mark Taper Forum, L.A.); Virginia/Clara in An Italian Straw Hat (South Coast Rep, World Premiere); Yelenka in Zhivago (La Jolla Playhouse, World Premiere); Mary Jane in Big River (Deaf West, Mark Taper Forum and Ahmanson Theatre, L.A.); Kayla in Ballad (Theatre Geo, Ovation Nomination, Dramalogue Award); Pud in Horton Foote's Laura Dennis (Zephyr Theatre, West Coast Premiere). Film and TV credits include A Lot Like Love, The Great Commission, Chicago Hope, Love and Marriage, The Whitey Show, National Lampoon's Lemmings Sketch Comedy Series (writer & series lead), The Muppets. Melissa also works as a song writer, animation writer and voice over artist.
