On Monday June 9th, 2008 amfAR presented Honoring with Pride: Honoring Jerry Mitchell: A celebration of the gay and lesbian community's response in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The event featured Taylor Dayne and was hosted by Mario Cantone. In addition to Jerry Mitchell the event honored Julie Davids and the company Kiehl's Since 1851.

The event took place at Hudson (356 West 58th Street).  At 6:30 p.m. there was be a VIP Cocktail Reception, at 7:00 p.m. there was be a cocktail reception,  and at 8:30 p.m. the awards presentation and special concert took place, followed by the Hudson Bar Afterparty with Legendary DJ Johnny Dynell.

This years event was Chaired by David Bohnett, Cheyenne Jackson, Mathilde Krim, Ph.D., Hal Luftig, Peter Staley, and Marissa Jaret Winokur.
