Yesterday, January 17, The Public Theater and La MaMa presented a one-night only encore benefit performance of the Belarus Free Theater's acclaimed production of Being Harold Pinter. The show was a sold out hit at this year's Under The Radar Festival. All proceeds from the evening benefit the Belarus Free Theater who is facing persecution in their homeland and barely escaped prison to travel to New York to perform this powerful piece of political theater. 

The event featured performances by Belarus Free Theater members: Natalia Kaliada and Nikolai Khalezin, Pavel Garadnitski, Irene Iarochevitch, Mikalai Khalezin, Yana Rusakevich, Aleh Sidorchyk, Dzianis Tarasenka, and Maryna Yurevich.

Joining them in support from the US were Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kevin Kline, Josh Hamilton,
Tony Kushner, Mandy Patinkin, Lily Rabe, Olympia Dukakis, Stephen Spinella, Tom Stoppard, Trudy Styler, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Linda Emond and more.
