The National Theatre presents the third season of National Theatre Live (NT Live), a successful initiative to broadcast live performances from the National's stages to cinemas worldwide. In addition to the previously scheduled broadcasts of The Comedy of Errors (March 1), the season will include Travelling Light (February 9) and She Stoops to Conquer (March 29). Since its first season, which began in June 2009 with the acclaimed production of Phédre starring Helen Mirren, over half a million people have now experienced the National's acclaimed work on movie screens around the world. FEBRUARY 9, 2012
TRAVELLING LIGHT, a new play by Nicholas Wright, is a funny and fascinating tribute to the Eastern European immigrants who became major players in Hollywood's golden age. The award-winning actor Antony Sher returns to the National's stage, directed by Nicholas Hytner.

MARCH 1, 2012
Shakespeare's furiously paced THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, directed by Dominic Cooke (artistic director of London's Royal Court Theatre), is staged in a contemporary world starring the hugely popular and ‘wonderfully funny' (The Independent) comedian and actor Lenny Henry making his NT debut. THE COMEDY OF ERRORS ‘is a crowd-pleasing show that brings festive, risqué cheer to the National'. (Evening Standard).

MARCH 29, 2012
Oliver Goldsmith's SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER is one of the great, generous-hearted and ingenious comedies of the English language. The celebrated play, directed by Jamie Lloyd, offers a celebration of chaos, courtship and the dysfunctional family.
