Photo Coverage: MAMMA MIA! Becomes 10th Longest-Running Show in Broadway History

Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' global hit musical MAMMA MIA! celebrated another milestone during its landmark 10th Anniversary year last night, September 14, when it became the 10th longest-running show in Broadway history, surpassing the record previously held by landmark musical Miss Saigon (4,097 performances). MAMMA MIA! has also surpassed the record breaking runs of legendary musicals such as Fiddler on the Roof; Hello, Dolly!; Annie; 42nd Street, My Fair Lady and the original run of Cabaret.

MAMMA MIA! opened at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre on October 18, 2001, and has become one of the most successful musicals of all time anywhere in the world and MAMMA MIA! The Movie is the most successful live musical film of all time.

MAMMA MIA! is holding a series of 10 live events in the New York area over the 10 weeks leading up to the 10th Anniversary on Broadway in October. Inspired by the story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs, writer Catherine Johnson's sunny, funny tale of family and friendship unfolds on a tiny Greek island. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings 3 men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. Songs including "Dancing Queen"; "The Winner Takes It All"; "Money, Money, Money" and "Take A Chance on Me" are all featured in this feel-good night of fun and laughter.
