Photo Coverage: Lestat Opening Night Gypsy Robe Ceremony

Sarah Solie, currently on Broadway in Lestat, was chosen as the latest winner of the Gypsy Robe. A ceremony was held at the opening night of the Elton John-Bernie Taupin musical on April 25th; Lestat is playing the Palace Theatre.

The colorful Gypsy Robe, embellished with mementos from Broadway musicals, is presented to the cast member who has the most Broadway chorus credits. Solie's Broadway credits as a performer include High Society, Steel Pier and Beauty and the Beast. She is a swing in as well as the dance captain of Lestat.

Inspired by Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles, Lestat is the first theatrical score from the legendary songwriting team of Elton John and Bernie Taupin; the show has a book by Linda Woolverton, and is directed by Robert Jess Roth with musical staging by Matt West. Jonathan Butterell serves as creative consultant. Lestat stars Hugh Panaro in the title role, Carolee Carmello as Gabrielle, Drew Sarich as Armand, Jim Stanek as Louis, Roderick Hill as Nicolas, Michael Genet as Marius and Allison Fischer as Claudia in a cast of 21. The show is the inaugural production of Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures. Visit www.lestat.com for more information.
