Photo Flash: Andrew Rannells Gets Glittery in New HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH Art!

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Tony nominee Andrew Rannells will succeed Neil Patrick Harris in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway. Rannells, who is contracted for an eight week run, will take on the title role beginning August 20, after Harris departs on August 17. Below, check out a first look at Rannells as the title character in just released promo art for the show!

At the 2014 Tony Awards, HEDWIG took home four honors, including Best Revival, and Harris' nod for Best Actor in a Musical.

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH was originally produced by David Binder off off Broadway at Westbeth and then, under the direction of Peter Askin, ran over two years at the Jane Street Theatre beginning in February 1998. The musical won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical and both John Cameron Mitchell andStephen Trask won Obies in 2001. It won a 1998 New York MagazineAward and Entertainment Weekly's "Soundtrack of the Year" Award. Time Magazine named HEDWIG the Top Musical of 1998.
