‚Äč

On May 6th, Anthony Fedorov attended a celebration for his Off-Broadway debut, 22nd birthday and for the 47th birthday of The Fantasticks, in which he currently stars as Matt.  The event, also featuring Fantasticks bookwriter/lyricist Tom Jones and the cast of The Fantasticks, took place at the Palm West Restaurant

Anthony Fedorov was a Top-Four Finalist in season four of "American Idol." During the 2005 American Idol Summer Tour, he played in 44 cities to over a half-million people. He recently appeared as a celebrity judge in "MTV's Little Talent Show Triple Threat" and as a celebrity contestant on Fox's "Fear Factor." He is currently working on solo material with some of music's most successful songwriters. Since the loss of his brother, Denis, he has become a devoted advocate for the Sarcoma Foundation of America, raising awareness of the disease and helping drive the organization's fundraising efforts to find a cure.

The Fantasticks opened on Wednesday, August 23, at New York's Snapple Theater Center (210 West 50th Street at Broadway). This beloved, musical love story features music by Harvey Schmidt and book and lyrics by Jones, who also directs. Anothony Fedorov ("Matt") joins a cast that includes: Thomas Bruce ("Henry"), John Deyle ("Hucklebee"), Julie Craig ("Luisa"), Burke Moses ("El Gallo"), Robert R. Oliver ("Mortimer"), Nick Spangler ("The Mute") and Martin Vidnovic as ("Bellomy").

The original production of The Fantasticks opened at the Sullivan Street Playhouse on May 3rd, 1960 and went on to run for 17,162 performances before closing in 2002.  It remains the longest-running Broadway or Off-Broadway musical of all time.
