Broadway Tony-Award winning star Donna McKechnie debuted her brand-new incarnation of MY MUSICAL COMEDY LIFE in Australia, directed by Richard Jay-Alexander, with native Australian Matthew Carey serving as musical director, and presented by the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. She has wow-ed audiences, garnering rave reviews and multiple standing ovations in both Adelaide and Melbourne and now, just one stop remains in Sydney on Thursday, June 24th (see below for ticketing information), with the touring production presented by David M. Hawkins in association with the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Here are a few special photos of one of Broadway's favorite leading ladies on, and back stage, delighting audiences down under, where we are hearing words used liked 'diva' and 'legend.' Early word is that the phone is ringing and offers are coming in from various markets and we're keeping our fingers crossed here for New York as well!

Ms. McKechnie’s Broadway credits include: A Chorus Line, How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Sondheim – A Musical Tribute (which she also choreographed), On The Town, Promises, Prom- ises!, Company and State Fair, for which she received the Fred Astaire Award for Best Female Dancer for the 1996 season. In London’s West End she starred in Promises, Promises, Company, No Way To Treat A Lady (which she also choreographed), Cole Porter’s Can-Can and Sondheim’s Follies.

Bob Fosse invited Ms. McKechnie to play the lead in his last production, a National tour of Sweet Charity, for which she was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award. She has performed extensively on the concert stage with symphony orchestras, in cabaret, and regional theatre. Her credits include Irma La Douce, Cabaret, Goodbye Girl, Follies, A Little Night Music, Mack and Mabel, The Glass Menagerie and Misalliance. Donna’s television credits include Fame, Cheers, Family Ties and Cheers. She Choreographed the highly acclaimed production of Guys and Dolls, at the Hollywood Bowl, directed by Richard Jay-Alexander. Donna features predominantly in the highly successful documentary Every Little Step. Her memoir, Time Steps – My Musical Comedy Life was published by Simon & Schuster.
