More than 4,500 fans turned up this afternoon at a CD signing, kicking-off The Great Dirty Rotten Record Giveaway, celebrating the new original cast recording of the smash hit musical comedy, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS. Fans, who began lining up at the Imperial Theatre at 6:00 a.m. this morning, received a special limited edition CD of the Ghostlight Records recording - absolutely free. The event was the first in Broadway and record industry history. The CD will not be available anywhere else until it hits stores on May 10.

The show's cast, including stars John Lithgow, Norbert Leo Butz, Sherie Rene Scott and Joanna Gleason, and composer David Yazbek, were on hand to sign discs before their Wednesday matinee performance. By noon, the line was blocks-long, stretching across the theater district.

The producers financed the album themselves and have partnered with Kurt Deutsch, President of the independent record labels Sh-K-Boom and Ghostlight Records. For more information on the giveaway, click here. For more information on the show, or to purchase tickets, click here.
